Lumbung Dana Ummat (LDU) invites individuals globally to participate in a collective social endeavor through impactful Islamic philanthropy (infaq, sadaqah, and waqf) to foster food security for Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) and bring widespread blessings to communities. As a philanthropic institution under Yayasan Lumbung Dana Ummat Al Izzah, LDU is dedicated to transparently channeling your contributions towards high-impact programs, including sustainable pesantren food security, Musholla Al Izzah, Villa Qur'an, and Islamic outreach (dakwah).
Building Foundations of Sustainability Through Ongoing Charity (Sadaqah Jariyah)
In the face of economic and food security challenges, pesantren play a crucial role as vanguards of religious and moral education. LDU recognizes that food self-sufficiency is paramount for the sustainable operation of these institutions. Through our productive waqf programs, we empower pesantren to manage their own agricultural land or livestock, allowing students (santri) to learn practical skills while meeting their nutritional needs. This embodies the essence of sadaqah jariyah, an ongoing charity whose rewards continue even after one's passing, as the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) stated: "When a person dies, all their deeds cease except for three: a continuous charity (sadaqah jariyah), beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for them." (Hadith Muslim).
To date, LDU has empowered over 750 students in various pesantren through our food security programs and provided sustainable food aid to 35 Islamic boarding schools across different regions. The impact is tangible: students now have better nutritional access, improved focus on their studies, and gain valuable life skills.
Spreading Blessings: Musholla Al Izzah, Villa Qur'an, and Dawn Charity
Beyond pesantren sustainability, LDU also focuses on promoting Islamic values and community welfare. The construction and renovation of Musholla Al Izzah serve as vital centers for religious and social activities. "Take, [O, Muhammad], from their wealth a charity by which you purify them and cause them to increase." (Quran 9:103) This verse inspires us to continuously develop proper places of worship.
The Villa Qur'an program exemplifies LDU's commitment to nurturing a generation of Quran memorizers. Your support through 'Dawn Charity' (Sedekah Subuh), known for its immense spiritual virtues, not only aids in developing these facilities but also alleviates the burdens of hundreds of underprivileged families. LDU believes that every contribution made during dawn brings profound blessings and widespread social impact. Our 'Dawn Charity' program has assisted hundreds of underprivileged families and supported the development of 3 'Villa Qur'an' centers, opening doors for more children to deepen their understanding of the Quran.
