Lumbung Dana Ummat (LDU) is a philanthropic institution dedicated to fostering sustainable community development through productive infaq, sedekah, and wakaf, primarily focusing on achieving food security for Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), constructing essential facilities, and promoting Islamic values.
LDU champions a transparent, impact-driven approach, ensuring every contribution empowers communities and fosters long-term well-being in line with global charity standards. We invite you to be part of this impactful journey, building a brighter, self-sufficient future for all.
Cultivating Self-Sufficiency: LDU's Sustainable Pesantren Programs
In the face of modern challenges, pesantren play a crucial role as pillars of moral and intellectual development. LDU supports pesantren not only as centers for religious education but also as hubs for food self-sufficiency and economic empowerment. Our programs focus on developing modern agricultural infrastructure, entrepreneurship training, and providing sustainable resources for students (santri).
To date, LDU has effectively empowered over 500 santri across various pesantren through our food self-sufficiency programs and distributed rice aid to dozens of pesantren every month. These figures represent the collective effort and unwavering commitment to ensure students can pursue their studies without the burden of food insecurity.
Beyond food security, LDU is actively involved in the construction and maintenance of religious facilities like Musholla Al Izzah and the development of Villa Qur'an, a dedicated center for memorizing the Holy Qur'an. Our Islamic outreach (dakwah syiar Islam) programs also reach diverse communities, disseminating messages of peace and goodness.
As the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught, “When a person dies, all their deeds come to an end except for three: a continuing charity (sadaqah jariyah), beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for them.” (Sahih Muslim). Every infaq, sedekah, and wakaf you channel through LDU is an investment in lasting impact, a form of sadaqah jariyah whose rewards continue to flow, even after we are gone. Imagine the immense blessing from every grain of rice consumed by a student, every verse of the Qur'an memorized, or every prayer offered at Musholla Al Izzah.
